Selected Quranic verses

﴿ إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ﴾

Indeed, the tree of Zaqqūm

﴿ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّواْ ٱللَّهَ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَاب... ﴾

Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange]...

﴿ عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ ﴾

A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and...

﴿ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَايَٰتِي تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ وَكُنت... ﴾

But those who disbelieved [will be asked], “When M...

﴿ وَكَانَ فِي ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ تِسۡعَةُ رَهۡطٖ يُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا يُصۡلِحُونَ ﴾

There were nine men in the city who used to spread...

﴿ وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ طَوۡعٗا وَكَرۡهٗا وَظِلَٰلُهُم بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ و... ﴾

To Allah prostrates[14] whoever is in the heavens...

﴿ يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ ﴾

﴿ أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ ﴾

5. As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,

﴿ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةُ وَٱلۡإِنجِي... ﴾

O People of the Book, why do you dispute about Abr...

﴿ قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ سَمۡعَكُمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرَكُمۡ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُم مَّنۡ إِ... ﴾

46. Say (to the disbelievers): "Tell me, if Allâh...

﴿ وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ نَبِيُّهُمۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ بَعَثَ لَكُمۡ طَالُوتَ مَلِكٗاۚ قَالُوٓاْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُ... ﴾

And their prophet said to them, "Indeed, Allāh has...

﴿ أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞ ﴾

and their eyes[6] will be downcast.
