﴿ قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴾

﴿ أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ﴾

48. "And also our forefathers?"

﴿ فَغَفَرۡنَا لَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلۡفَىٰ وَحُسۡنَ مَـَٔابٖ ﴾

25. So We forgave him that, and verily, for him is...

﴿ إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ ﴾

11. Verily, when the water rose beyond its limits...

﴿ وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظۡمَؤُاْ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضۡحَىٰ ﴾

nor will you suffer from thirst or from scorching...

﴿ ۞ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوٓاْ ءَالَ لُوطٖ مِّن قَرۡيَتِكُمۡۖ إ... ﴾

But the only response his people gave was to say,...

﴿ إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ﴾

Indeed, the tree of zaqqūm

﴿ الٓمٓ ﴾

Alif, Lām, Meem.[1124]

﴿ وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِيلٗا وَأَكۡدَىٰٓ ﴾

34. And gave a little, then stopped (giving)?

﴿ أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَسۡجُدُۤ لَهُۥۤ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱ... ﴾

Do you not see [i.e., know] that to Allāh prostrat...

﴿ أَفَسِحۡرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمۡ أَنتُمۡ لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ﴾

15. Is this magic, or do you not see?

﴿ فَرَجَعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ﴾

So they turned back to one another, and said, “Ind...
